alesse problem...need help

i've been on alesse for 4 yrs and recently my periods have gone from nothing at all to light back to nothing at all. my question is, is that my bf and i had sex the day before i was suppose to start. i stayed on the green pills until thursday with not period insight. i stopped taking them to see if i would start and nothing has happened. i took a test and it came out negative. so i am confused that i have not started, am i pregnant. is this normal? or should i go see a doctor.

If you have a history of light or no periods and you've taking your pills correctly, I'd say you're fine.. just to be on the safe side, I'd do another pregnancy test in a few weeks.

You may not be pregnant because you have a history of light periods. To avoid future stress you might want to try a different pill that will increase the flow a bit. These are the ones that I saw on a list for pills that are good for absent or too light a flow: Ortho-Cyclen, Ovcon 35, Brevicon, Modicon, Necon1/50, Norinyl 1/50, Ortho-Novum1/50, Necon 1/35, Norinyl 1/35, Ortho-Novum 1/35.

some of the progestin only pills (also called POPs or "mini pills") can cause you to not get your period, like Micronor. You should look in to the hormone amounts in Alesse
