Anyone using Symbicort?

I was just wondering what your side effects might be. I want to find out if my problem is a side effect or if it's "all in my head".

Re: Anyone using Symbicort?

I've been using Symbicort for about a year and a half, and for me it has been wonderful; I have not had to use Ventolin once since I started it. I'm not having any side effects whatsoever. What sort of things are you experiencing?

Re: Anyone using Symbicort?

Well, the only thing I've really noticed is that I get the shakes after I take it. I wasn't sure at first if it was the Symbicort or just my tremors. I was noticing it in the morning so I thought it could be the tremors. To make sure I started taking two doses before bed and none in the mornings, and sure enough I got the shakes really bad. I can counteract the SE by taking my beta blocker for the tremors, but that makes me REALLY hot , so I don't want to take it unless I really have to.

I wanted to see if anyone else experienced the shakes on Symbicort. That's one of my problems with Ventolin, too; add to that nausea and headache and they're the reasons why I use Atrovent instead of Ventolin. The doctor I work for gave me the Symbicort so I wouldn't have to use Atrovent so often.

Thanks for your response!

Re: Anyone using Symbicort?

I just started using Symbicort last week. I have only taken it a few times, but I get the shakes within minutes of taking it. I just feel very jittery, and my hands shake, almost like I am on a caffeine high.

Re: Anyone using Symbicort?

Thanks! It's good to know it's not just my imagination . I suppose I can be grateful that it's not as bad as Ventolin.
