Re: Sick as a Dawg

There is another condition that causes the rib pain that isn't a fracture. It is a cartilage split and it actually takes longer to heal than a fracture. I had to laugh at your "fart" comment because I almost said that in my post yesterday when I was telling you how any sudden body surprise hurts. About the Z pack..if the fracture and the bronchitis weren't enough..after i took the Z pack I got a yeast infection down south if you know what I mean and thrush in my mouth. That was totally disgusting. It was Christmas Day and I couldn't do much about it. The day after I called for Diflucan that fixed both problems. Eat Yogurt if you are taking a Z pack. Hope today is better.

Re: Sick as a Dawg

Awwwwwwww Windy~
Ya know I went to a 5 day impatient program to give up the deadly reds! Only way I could do it. Actually, it was at the same rehab in Minnesota I had gone to to get clean. Hard core smoker, I was! Over 30 years of reds! Just planting a seed, my friend.
Rest that rib as you can, it's the only way it can heal.
Sending chicken soup luv and healing vibes your way!

Talking Re: Sick as a Dawg

Hi sick as a dawg! My lil' Wendy! Just like my sister... coughin up a lung and still smoking! I dont say anything to her because I understand! I do the same thing if I really want a cig!

So you have been sick all week? Im so sorry! I have horrible allergies, and Houston the weather couldn't be any worse all year round for someone with allergies. I use the Advair inhaler everymorning when I wake up, and I use albuteral when my throat starts closing up. I also take an allergy shot once a week. And I feel horrible because I must have given allergies to my daugher's too! I give them shots and they are always sick too.

Anyway what I was getting at is sleepytime tea, honey, and lemon tastes so good together and its good for upper resp infections. Loosens everything up.
I miss ya gal! It's been quiet on the boards lately. (Im actually trying to keep my big mouth shut) Reading "working with others" in the big book. And I realized I must have scared a lot of people off by talking too much about the disease instead of letting people think on their own. Have you read that chapter? It's really good. My sponsor gave me homework to highlight 160 clear cut instructions on how to work with other addicts and alcoholics just in that chapter alone. It makes you think.

Well honey! Got the girls this weekend and going to look at fish and sharks tomorrow with my boyfriend and his son. Aut a be fun! (I love making up words)

Please take care of yourself and I agree with Godessgirl.... dont wake up the sleeping monster by taking cough med. It sounds silly but when I went to the dentist and let them know ahead of time I was an addict, they gave me a numbing shot only.... I felt that " woozy " feeling and it DID NOT feel good. I went to two meeting everyday for three days and I talked to my sponsor about it. I really felt like I was fighting the urge to take some vics!

I have really grown fond of my on line family and want everyone including Windy to feel good and be healthy!

Have a good weekend! P.S. Im lovin staying home with my 3 year old everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Sick as a Dawg

Thanks Sara...by the way, I'm a guy. Weird nickname, I know. The cough syrup didn't even give a buzz and although I was apprehensive I used it as prescribed. Today is better. Yes, I've read that Big Book many times as well as the stories too. I have a couple of sponsees and let me tell ya...don't sponsor anyone until you are ready to make a lifelong commitment. It is a very serious thing to get wrapped up in someone else's life. For the first year it is best to stay away from "feral people"(that's what my sponsor calls them). There is plenty of time to do step 12. Don't worry about "telling the world to get sober" when you got out of rehab because everybody does it. It is good that you understand how to listen. That's a very good quality. Thanks for the luv.
