Question how do you treat radiation burns

My grandmother was recently getting radiation treatments however her last treatment was in July. Today i took her to the doctors only to find that the radiations caused burns on the outside of her vagina and on her butt. Since she couldnt see the burns she just thought it was a UT but we found that they are infected now and doctors not sure what would be best to heal the infected wounds because she has already tried all over the counter creams somebody please help

I am not sure about radiation burns, but my Dr. told me to use Desitin creamy (the baby diaper rash cream) for burns from Aldara and liquid nitrogen. I don't know if this helps, but maybe you could ask the doctor. Good luck!!

Hi,
Have your grandmother check with her doctor about silvadine (spelling is probably wrong). My husband had 2nd and 3rd degree burns and that's what they gave him. He was burned with boiling water, and I don't know if radiation burns are different. When I did radiation, I used the Aquaphor ointment. Did they stop radiating your grandmother? Aren't they supposed to monitor at least once a week? Poor her!! Such an uncomfortable spot to suffer in. I hope she's better soon.
