Post mum has lung cancer - so much pain :(

my mum was diagnosed with lung cancer in february 2002. she has had 2 lots of chemo already which didnt seem to do much good at all. the cancer has spread to her brain and she has deposits in her bones as well.

firstly - i cant beleive this is all happening to her. she never smoked - lead the most healthy lifestyle imaginable too! walking - good food etc. and to top it off was huge on the vitamins - which she has now stopped due to all the medicated junk she is taking now.

in australia we dont have iressa available - but we were able to receive it through some special programme linked with usa. she started taking this only last week. has anyone had good results with this?

also what does anyone suggest for all the pain? she has pain patches she takes - but she is too scared to go on the "harder" morphine stuff. pain is in soulders and hips mainly. i put heat packs on her and panadol her too (i think you call it tynenol?)

whats next after iressa????

she is also taking a herbal thing which we also get from the usa called SV soup. she has been taking this since being first diagnosed. has anyone alse been taking this?? or heard of it???

the whole thing is so depressing and horrible. we lost dad only 3 years ago, my father in law 2 weeks ago, and cant believe mum has to go through this now. she is too young asnd i need her so much

does anyone know of any other remedies whether they be herbal or not which can help her at all????

feeling so sad and helpless

Well you could try essiac tea, mgn3 and ip6, all are sopposed to build up the immune system, a critical element of fighting cancer. However these aren't medical remedies, only suppliments. How is she doing on the Iressa???????
