Have a tender, reddish circle-patch of skin around my navel - itches, smells horid and occasionally hurts. Not sure what to do, would really prefer to avoid a doctor, any home remedies?
hey there, that happen to me one time and it seem to be that my skin had a reaction to the button on the jeans that i was wearing. it itched and did smell. what helped me was to get some alchohol on a cotton swab and clean the area including what of the belly button i could. that really helped and felt good. then i put some benadryl ointment and it seem to make the itching go away. i then applied it as needed and it did help. the other day i noticed that the button on my jeans was bothering me again and once i removed them the itching stopped. also if this seems to be the problem someone told me once that if you put clear nail polish on the part that you have a reaction to like the outside of the button, it won't bother you anymore. i personaly have not tried but i thought it sounded good at the time. lol. well i hope this has helped in some way and good luck. keep me posted. robin (girl75)
