anti anxiety

Im currently on lamictal(just started low dose),1500mg litium and risperal. When I wake up in the morning I want to go go go and feel anxiety. The 2 doctors I have seen only wanted to give me vistaril or buspar which have done nothing for me. The things that did work they wont give me because they are in the addicting catagory. In my opinion I really dont care as long as something works. If Im going to be on pills the rest of my life I want something thats going to help. Just like she gave me temazepam to help me sleep but did nothing compared to my ambien. Anyway any advice would be helpfull.

Could you describe a bit better what you mean by "go go go"? Some people can have agitated, nervous manias... if so, maybe you'd be better off trying a mood stabilizer than an anti-anxiety...
Lamictal is a mood stabilizer, but it's usually used for people who are predominantly depressed. People who are especially looking to take care of manias usually try something like lithium.

Re: anti anxiety

Hmm by go go go I mean nervous energy, hard to sit still, feeling like I have to go someplace or do something.

It does sound a little bit like an agitated mania. Do you have a bipolar diagnosis already?

Re: anti anxiety

Hey Silver bullet,
Funny you are mentioning this. I have been fighting anxious feelings since I started Lamictal. (I also take Trileptal) It makes me go, go, go, as well. If I take it in the afternoon it keeps me awake at night. My PDr. said that for some people this drug speeds them up. I think this drug is also what makes my mind race. Let me know if you find any solutions. Looks like we are in the same boat, got any paddles?
Take Care,
T.
