excema on feet?

My daughter (7) cannot wear sandals with straps because the strap will cause severe excema which itches so badly she will scratch it and then eventually she needs bactroban combines with cordisone cream to help it heal. For the longest time this was a summer problem (which was ok because she would mostly go barefeet and wear swimmies to school) but now she has developed the same thing with her boots! Her feet look horrible. She doesn't itch while wearing the boots, but she scatches at night. I can keep it more or less under control by sealing the bactroban with vaseline...but I don't see the end of boot or shoe season!
Anybody any advise? I can keep her from scratching it too badly by giving her socks in bed, but that of course doesn't solve the issue. Funny thing is that it is only on her feet, she doesn't have excema anywhere else.

Are you sure it's exema>? Have you gotten any dr to look at it? Because I got stuff like this but only between my toes and only when I'd wear dark colored socks or shoes between the toes---I've heard that dark dies can irritate sensitive skin and ppl w/ sensitive feet are told often to wear white socks and then OVER that black, if they must wear black. You say it's where the sandal strap goes on her foot, right?

I had this problem, even in the summer when I wasn't wearing socks a lot, although I get this more in colder months, But the only thing that helped me was atheletes foot!

I mean, the only thing that helped me was stuff to TREAT atheletes' foot--I got spray tinactin (wal mart, about 6$) and they also have the cream tinactin that lasts you much longer than the spray and for the same price or less!!

Dear Lord, you got me worried there for a second, thinking "I am going to have to give my daughter athlete's foot now?" LOL

Yes, it is some sort of excema. I have taken her to the MD a few times when it gets really bad and gets infected because of all the scratching. MD had no ideas but to heal the infection (bactroban and cordisone cream combined: it does wonders) and keep her on bare feet for as much of the time as is possible. Luckily she loves being barefooted!

It almost looks like contact dermatitis (sp?) except that now it isn't just along where the strap of the sandal would be (allergic to leather??) but along the whole top of her feet and her ankles...
