Help, Im struggling with this

Hi
Im really struggling at the moment, I wonder if anyone can see where Im going wrong?
Briefly, I have bad breathing troubles caused by gerd. It wakes me up at night a lot. So I use beclomethasone and serevent inhalers, I use a lot of it. Ive also raised the head of my bed, have no caffeine, alcohol, fatty foods, don't eat for 3 hours before going to bed, don't bend over after eating.
Recently I went for food testing and he confirmed that I reacted to wheat, dairy, potatoes and tomatoes, and MSG, which wasnt a huge surprise. So for about 2.5 weeks I have been eliminating these things from my diet. Ive also started to take calcium, EFA (essential fatty acids), agnus castus (to regulate my periods) and lactobacillus.
My breathing is so bad now though that Im only managing to sleep for about 3 hours a night. Ive got lots of the other symptoms aswell, sore throat, lump in throat, can't eat, heart racing. Im taking omeprazole, Ive just started taking it (5 days). It worked well the first night or two, but didn't work as well after that and doesn't seem to work at all now. I was on lansoprazole but that didn't work.
Im going to the doc today. I thought that by eliminating the bad foods from my diet would help, but it just seems to be getting worse. Is it any of the supplements that I take? How can I get over this?
If anyone can offer me advice Ill be very grateful

Tess

are you taking 20 mg omeprazole twice a day, 30 minutes before eating?

Hi Zoot_Suit_Brian

no I was taking it once a day in the evening about 30-45 mins before eating. I was having trouble with dizzyness with it. Today the doctor has switched me to pariet, which must be the littlest known ppi, I haven't heard of it, but it is unlikely to cause dizzyness apparantly. Just once a day. With both ppis I have tried the effect seems to wear off after only a few days of being on it. why is this and would taking it twice a day help more then?

Can I ask, one day I took the omeprazole with juice, and then continued to drink the juice before eating. But juice can be quite substantial, so could it have interfered with the absorbtion of the omeprazole?

once a day? i would think you would definetly need twice a day. I wouldnt think juice would effect absorption. my GI recommended taking the medicine 20-30 minutes before eating.
