Curious about Antibiotics

Could someone please tell me what antibiotic is usually prescribed for sinus infection.

Well, sometimes it depends on whether or not they have taken a culture. For example, if they cultured you and found a specific bacteria, then they can prescribe an antibiotic that works well to fight it. My ENT doesn't usually do cultures, AND I'm allergic to Penicillin and Cipro, so I'm kind of limited as to what I can take, but I do know that the doctors like to use Levaquin and Omnicef.

If it didn't get cultured they might put you on a broad spectrum antibiotic. But some antibiotics are just known to work better in certain areas...eg penicillin is usually given for mouth issues.

Augmenten taken for two weeks to a month. I've just been through this.
