BenzaClin: How drying is it?

How drying is BenzaClin/clindamycin-benzoyl peroxide as opposed to standard, over the counter benzoyl peroxide like Clearasil or Neutrogena? More drying? Less drying? Much more drying?

I'm considering using it, but I really don't want to deal with extremely dry skin.

its very drying especially if overdosed.

Benzaclin uses a 5% concentration of BP and 1% concentration of Clidamycin. Some OTC stuff uses concentrations as high as 10%. I think people make the mistake of using a high concentration on thier whole face. THis WILL dry your skin out and probably cause you to break out more bc of the stress on your face.

That being said, I used Benzaclin for a while and if you use only a thin layer it really is not that bad. I used Cetaphil lotion which worked fine with the dryness. If you have moderate acne, BP does help.

I only used it for a week, but it dried out my skin like nothing I've ever used before (and I've used Cleocin, 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, and either Retin-A or Differin all at the same time and didn't have problems). I used the one with 3% clindamyacin, which has to be kept refrigerated (another pain). Maybe the 1% one wouldn't be so bad.
