Microgynon - can it cause outbreaks?

I've no idea if this is a daft question, but can the contraceptive pill Microgynon cause outbreaks of spots/acne?

I've been on this pill for the past 3 years and after a 6 month break, have just gone back on it again. Since taking it though my skin has changed dramatically. This has never happened to me before.

Does anyone know if this particular brand of pill is linked to this?

I'm also taking meds for neuralgia (amitriptyline) so am wondering if it could be reacting badly with that? (my neourologist said they were fine to take together though)
