Going to in-house detox in a few days and don't know what to expect!!! Help!

well, i am curious, as to how you make out. I am looking into the same kinda thing. When do you go in, and what are you taking and how much.....

After knowing that you are in a medical detox, I would not recommend a non medical one. Just for the fact that you can do everything they do for you at home, and also, its not worth the comfort of your own home.

In a medical detox, you will be better off.

let us know how you do. ive never been in a rehab, im young and i cant seem to get off of these stupid Oxycontin's. ive tried to cold turkey, tamper down, everything... some how, not too long after, ill do one - which leads to more. now, i was clean for about 7 days, using little doses of meth to get off and then stay off! ive done 1/2 of 80MG Oxy about 2-3 times thru the weekend. now i need to get my $ back up, i didnt do any yest and today i dont feel too great. i have to tough it out, i wish you the best of luck... let us know how it goes. i think everything will be ok, youll be able to come on here and count your clean days!

I'm planning on going tomorrow, I'll be out of pills then and my husband can drive me over there. I won't be on for a while but as soon as I get out I'll let you all know how it went. I'm scared to death but very ready to get on with it! I can't wait to count my clean days.

I have always known his problem and how many he takes. So I bet it was very hard keeping it from your husband. I have a friend who takes also and she hides it also from her boyfriend. God, I bet that was tuff coming clean. Good for you!!! I hope detox works for you. You just have to stay strong and let the people who want to help be there fo you.
When my husband went to medical detox last year he was given at first 2 darvocet 1 ativan then slowly tapered to none at all. First few nights they gave him trazodone to help him sleep. His program was 5 days in. He was using about 30-40 pain pills a day then and is again. He cant go one day without and doesn't. My best advice is go to 1 meeting a day like they suggest. He said that they made him feel so good. He only lasted 15 days sober. Hes talking about going in again. I hope it works this time. Hes kinda procrasinating. I cant wait till he goes though because I think I will feel so much better. Anyway I will quit rambling on and I send you my best wishes!!!Just hang in there you will be amazed at how well you feel when you get out. He said he felt the best hes ever felt those days when he got out. The temptation just got to him. Dont let the temptation get to you stay away from it. You also have to change your whole lifestyle. Hi, first of all your doing the right thing and are an amazing woman. However I went to a detox and it was only for 13 days then insurrance kicked me out. I'm concerned that the amount of days you mentioned. Not gonna work. They gave me really good shots and then slowly weaned me off them. I've heard to detox you need a long term facility, one to 2 months. If you only go for that length of time your destined to relaspe. Sorry but those are the odds. Good luck and god bless.
