Getting VERY Annoyed

The pill was supposed to HELP the heavy bleeding. I've had months where I've bled for 25 days...and I thought THAT was bad! I'm going to ask her to do a uterine ablation, which will drastically cut down on my period.

I'm a part-time worker. Today I have to work a full day because the other secretary has the day off. I'm in charge of answering the phone (among other things) and I'll be in the office with three men. I can't be running to the bathroom every ten minutes cleaning up messes! I'm so afraid I'm going to have another incident today! This could be so embarrassing!

That seems really strange that you would bleed that much on Estrostep FE. I took estrostep fe for 3 years and that never happened to me. My period got extremely light the last 2 years I was using it. At first it took a while to get used and my periods were heavy but nothing like you are describing.

I wish I could tell you how to stop it because I know how annoying it can be to have a long period. I would try estrostep fe another month and see what happens. I do know that it is supposed to make your period lighter so maybe you just have to take it for alittle while before this happens.

Hello. A couple yrs ago i was on the norplant that was inserted into my arm. It released a constant dosage - no fluctuation. I bled for 3 yrs straight (no thats not a mistype) with maybe 2-3 days a week without my period. So for you all that think its because of the fluctuation I don't think it is. I think its how your body adjusts. I have been on depo and it did the same and now i am Nuva Ring and no problems at all. If anything it made it predictable when it never was before.

I have been taking Estrostep fe for 3 months. The first two months I had some mild nausea a few times and really bad cramps during my period. Then the third month the nausea got worse, I had some spotting during the 2nd week and I was concerned about the bad cramping (since they were worse than when I wasn't on the pill). I called my Dr. and she decided to switch me to Levlite which is low-dose pill with the same dose through the whole month. I will begin taking it this coming Sunday. Maybe you need a low-dose pill? Just thought I would share my story with Estrostep. Good Luck to you.

thanks for the info. i called my dr last week & she left me a message saying that she would switch me to a different pill if i wanted. since i havent spoken to her directly, i dont know what that pill is yet. i'm now on my last week of active pills (my 2nd pack of estrostep). the 1st week i was fine...started breakthrough bleeding on day 8 & it hasnt let up yet. its not too too bad (the brown stuff)...just enough to be annoying. i'm afraid to have sex because i dont want any surprises. i find that either it goes away for a few hours when i have sex, or it gets heavy and red. i dont have the cramping like i had last week but i'm noticing that my boobs are getting more sore each day. walking down the stairs this morning i was like, holy cow! so i dont know what i should do...i'm afraid that if i change to a different pill i might get some of the other side effects that i've been reading about...like the nausea. i guess i'll see how the next week & a half goes. i just want to be normal! i think i'm also getting a little depressed....i dont know if thats the pill itself or just the fact that i'm getting so damn annoyed. any ideas?
