Product Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good product that won't cost me an arm and a leg, but that actually works. I have moderate acne but also a lot of red scars I would like to tone down......and I also live in Canada is that helps....

Thanks a bunch

Re: Product Recommendation

You should get Azelex acid its prescription but you can probably order it online for like 50.00 american dollars Its great for mild-moderate acne and good for getting rid of the red marks I have been using it for 3 weeks so far its working pretty good (as good as anything can b/c i am pregnant and my zits are hormonal) My derm told me that it will help fade the red marks .
Dont waster your money on vitamins or over the counter stuff becuase they dont really work trust me i tried evreything . AND I MEAN EVREYTHING.
if you have medical insurance and really want to nip this acne in the bud
try getting a prescription for accutane you would want to ask for a low dose like taking on 20mg pill 3 times a week . That works best while i was on it my skin was perfect.and side effects few and far between . if you are not ready to get that far just try the azelex. It burns a bit the first few days you use it but it subsides and doesnt leave you all red a peely like retin-a .

Good luck

Re: Product Recommendation

i tried EVERYTHING and the only thing that completely worked is proactiv. it is like magic- that perfect thing that everyone who suffers from acne needs to know about. for the first time- a commercial with cheesy celebrity endorsement that is actually 100% accurate and true.

Re: Product Recommendation

Tea tree oil works pretty well for me. I've only been using it for about three weeks, but my face has cleared up by about 80%. It's pretty inexpensive. You can get it on the internet (probably cheapest option), or at natural food stores, at least in the US. I bought an 8 oz bottle (probably 6-9 month supply) on the internet for 16 bucks including shipping. I used to use Differin, Minocycline (antibiotic), Cleocin lotion, and benzoyl peroxide (all prescription), and now my face is only slightly less clear than it was using all of them (Cleocin is the only one of those I'm still using), so I would say tea tree oil is pretty effective! I really don't have any scars, so I don't know if it would help with those.

Tamanu oil is supposed to be good for healing scars. I've found it for about $20/oz on the internet (it's expensive, I know).
