Which Pills Are Low Estrogen????

Could You Please Give Me A List Of The Low Estrogen Birth Control Pills??? I Know That It Is The Estrogen That Causes Most Of The Bad Things To Happen With The Pill---like Blood Clots. So I Would Like To Start On One That Is Low Estrogen. I Am On Yasmine Now....my Doc Just Called Me In Ovcon 35 But I Just Read Some Stuff On The Net And It Doesnt Say That Ovcon Is Low Estrogen.

If You Take A Low Estrogen Pill Does It Prevent Pregnancy Just As Well????

Alesse, Levlite, Loestrin Fe, and Mircette are considered actual "low estrogen" pills.

To put it into perspective for you:

Yasmin - 30 mcg ethinyl estradiol / 3 mg drospirenone
Ovcon - 35 mcg ethinyl estradiol / 0.4 mg norethindrone
Loestrin- 20 mcg ethinyl estradiol / 1 mg norethindrone acetate

So actually, Ovcon and Yasmin are higher in estrogen than the honest "low estrogen" pills. But they're still low compared to some other pills.

But all of these pills are equally effective.
