The pill and pregnancy

Hi all,

What are the signs of being pregnant while being on the pill, but still having your period? I got my period today but before I got it I was so scared I was pregnant. Could I still be?

The only real "signs" of pregnancy is a pregnancy test. However if you are on BC and you had your normal period and you havnt missed any pills and you used a condom then your chances are about as low as they are going to get

Cutie - You sound like me. My boyfriend and I still used condoms even though I started taking bc pills 3 months ago, but last month we had sex without a condom just one time and I wasn't worried about anything cause I was on the pill, but then I had some spotting on my 3rd pack of pills, which I didn't have with the first 2 packs so I got freaked out that I was pregnant. So, since then my boyfriend and I have been stressed out, but today I started my period as expected so all is well. I just hate that the pill has side effects that are similar to signs of pregnancy. But if you have taken your pills at the same time everyday and not missed any you should be fine, plus you started your period so that is a pretty good sign that you are fine. Its also a good idea to use condoms too just to be extra careful. Good Luck and Take Care*

My period is lighter than usual - is that a bad thing?

The pill can make your periods lighter because less tissue is formed. My first period on the pill was light and lasted about 3-4 days, the 2nd month it was a little heavier, but still only lasted about 3 days. This month it is pretty light and I'm on day 2. It's normal for it to be lighter... It should say that in the info. that came with your pill. What pill are you taking? I am on Estrostep fe but switching to Levlite.
