Swollen Glands??

Hello everyone,
I have a question
A little back ground info, I have seasonal asthma, some allergies, GERD which has led to LPR(I think)

I have been to numerous Drs recently and I am tired of fighting with them. I am on Nexium 2x a day for the GERD. I have been doing pretty good for a couple of weeks. I took an Allegra a couple of days ago and started my atrovent inhaler. I started having a lot og throat problems and reflux so I went to the asthma Dr and he gave me a shot of Solumedrol ? I think its called. I quit the atrovent and allegra. It has been 2 days and I am pretty sure I am refluxing but I noticed over the last couple of days that the glands in my neck are swollen pretty bad, I can feel at least 4 of them. I decided to take a tylenol and the swelling went down a bit.

My glands in my neck have swollen a lot in the last year or so, so have the ones in my groin area. Is this something I need to have looked into? Or just treat the symptoms?
I did have a metabolic comprehensive blood, urine test done as well as thyroid profile.

Thanks for your help,
Katt

Re: Swollen Glands??

Hi ! Katt,

I wish I knew what to tell you about your situation. However, I can tell you
my situation from my own experience..........,

First a question..... ? are the glands in your neck just under your ear lobes,
and down into your neck and cheeks ? I have had this since June of 04' !

I went to five different Doctors, and they all said I had the " MUMPS " !
Of course, their diagnoses were from my symptoms !

Even my ' Doctor Father-in-Law ', looked at me, felt of the glands, and
he said, ' Yep ! It looks like you have the MUMPS !! '
These glands I am speaking of (the parotid glands), are the glands that people DO have the MUMPS in ! Hey ! I am fiftyish and too old for this !lol.

They still swell like they are going to blow up, then there are times,
when the swelling goes down some, but they have never gone completely
down. AND, the pain is getting worse.

My best advice is to see a Doctor of Infectious Diseases. This is what I did.
I hope this helped a bit.
Oh, and you can get some good information on these message boards, and
the folks are super nice !

Take Care, and let me hear how things are going,
and if I can help in any way....,
GG
