Re: Heart Disorder & Pregnancy

jenn.e- mine were bad in the beginning then they let up for a few months it was great it was like i had never had palps before. Hopefully the same happens for you, i just hope this next 7 weeks goes by fast cause the not being able to breath is killing me, i guess i have learned to deal with the palps since ive been having them for about 15 yrs but not being able to breath by just walking a few steps is rough, and it scares me that something is worse with my heart and its not just the pregnancy but then again they say breathing can be like that for people with mvp i just never had that happen to me all i ever had was a few palps right before i would start my period, that scares me to that after i have her with all the hormonal changes that the palps and other symptoms are going to be nuts. But im sure we will both be ok and i guess we just gotta think the best these days cause all stress does is makes it all worse!!! Btw, your due on my oldest daughters bday

Re: Heart Disorder & Pregnancy

I am 3 1/2 months postpartum and my cardiologist said I might have postpartum cardiomyopathy. My regular doctor kept blowing me off giving me xanax and zoloft telling me that it was anxiety and stress my cardiologist finally did 24 hoelter monitor and Echo and put me on a beta blocker. I was having PVC's and shortness of breath and chest pain.

Re: Heart Disorder & Pregnancy

Does anyone know anything about pregnancy and heart transplant patients. My husband is 2 years post and we have two children. We are thinking about another child however there is no information out there on what if anything his meds will do to the baby. He is on cylcosporine and immuran and prednizone (sp? on these) also lotensin for BP. Any advice would be appreciated.
