Migraine Medications

My pain management doctor prescribed Axert pills and Zomig nasal spray. I tried the Zomig nasal spray in the office when I had a mild headache and then when I got home I had a masssive migraine so I'm not too sure about it. I will try the Axert tonight if I need it and see how it works. Has anyone had any relief with either Axert or Zomig. The Axert is very expensive- It will cost me $50 for 12 pills, so I really was hoping the Zomig would work.

Re: Migraine Medications

that's ok.... thanks for responding though. I am going through trial and error right now to trying to keep my headaches under control. I swear Zomig gave me a headache, but Axert did get rid of a doozy I had on Tuesday night. It took 2 hours but it did help.

Re: Migraine Medications

Does Axert make you drowsy? I have axert but have never tried one. I need a medication I can take while at work that will knock out the headache and not me. Any suggestions??

Re: Migraine Medications

Zomig nazal spray (5mg) works great for me. I take it at the very beginning of a migraine. Works in approximately 10-15 minutes. If I take it during an attack, approximately 30-45 minutes.
Ask your doctor if he/she can increase your mg dosage if your currant dosage is not working.

I do not take Axert. However, Axert has a discount program. Check out the following site: http://www.needymeds.com/programs/996.shtml
