TSH Level over 150

Hi!
I am new to the board but not to thyroid problems. Been on meds for 12 years. they have gone up and down due to pregnancy, miscarriage, nursing babies etc.
had lots of trauma in my life and was off my meds for about 6 weeks... I know NOT GOOD! I went back to my Dr. 2 weeks ago she did complete blood work said my TSH level was over 150, yes that is one hundred and fifty.. Put me back on my last used dosage of 150mcg of synthroid. I still cannot get out of bed in the morning or stop yawning all day long. I am a single mom of 4 and this is killing me... sigh.. Also my Cholesterol total is over 300 and triglicerades (sp?) over 400. Put me back on Tricor. Also put me back on Lexapro wich is an anti anxity drug.. I stll feel horrible... help! when will I feel better?

Re: TSH Level over 150

I am sorry you have to suffer so much. When my TSH was 20, it was very miserable.

I can't say exactly when you will start feeling better. Some people feel better in one or two weeks. You need to have bloodtests done again in 6 to 8 weeks. The tests you need are TSH,Ft4 and Ft3.

Your cholesterol will go down once you are on the right dosage for you. The 150 mcgs of Synthroid should make you start feeling better soon.

I just want to tell you to watch out for any muscle pain while taking Tricor. It is not suggested for people with hypothyroidism to take.

I had severe muscle pain throughout my body while taking Lipitor when my TSH was 20. You might not have any problems, but I sure did.
