Re: mucous in throat can't swallow it away! and thirsty all the time.

Ginger, you are absolutely right. Sometimes I lose perspective that it is my body, not theirs, and I know what I am feeling. Persistence is the key and I thank you for your straight forward words ... they have renewed me. By the way, I absolutely agree that if the LES isn't working, what is the question? I don't know why the doctors don't understand this.

Re: mucous in throat can't swallow it away! and thirsty all the time.

Hey, just wanted to let everyone know I found some relief (SO FAR!) My allergist has put me on Aciphex- one in the am and on in the pm. I was on it a week and no relief but then I decided to do my parasite and candida cleanse, yet still stay on the Aciphex. After 3 days of the cleansing I am feeling So Much better. The post nasal drip thing is crazy, too. My allergist is very familiar with this acid reflux and I showed him results of my endoscopy. I asked him about how in the world the post nasal drip is associated with acid reflux. He said he doesn't seem have figured that one out either. I do take zyrtec, too and am on nasanex. Gong off Nasonex this week. To see if it's the cleansing or the Aciphex kicking in, I'm going to just go on one pill a day in about another week. These docs need to quit treating the symptoms and find some answers on this. I have a GI follow up monday. Also check into "esophagitis". If that is inflamed I'm sure it will give you the feeling of something there. My mucous a few months ago seemed to be up further in my neck but now its a thickness or burning in the lower part of my throat by my trachea. My cleansing--I take 30 drops of wormwood tincture 3x a day and drink 3 cups of paud-arco tea. It does take time and you have to stick with it and be faithful but talk to the person in the health food store, if they don't seem to know, call another one. Mine seems to move up and down my throat sometimes too, like it's just behind my nose. I sometimes wonder if the post nasal drip is the cause of the throat thing. Really, everyone should read about parasites and candida. If you've been on antibiotics a lot, birth control, etc. and it CAN invade your intestinal tract. The parasite cleanse and candida cleanse can be bought from any health food store. $20 won't kill anyone just to see because doctors will deny this exists. Good Luck!!!

FYI People,
I have stopped eating the foods that I'm not supposed to eat for LPR or LDR,whatever this is called again. I've been exercising and taking care of myself and the problem has ALREADY improved dramatically. A little sad that it takes something like this to make me take care of myself but it did and I am and that appears to be the best remedy. Wish you all the best.

Re: mucous in throat can't swallow it away! and thirsty all the time.

I can relate to a lot of you. I was diagnosed with LPR about a month ago. I've been on Prevacid 30mg daily since then. The only physical symptom I have is the globolus sensation(lump in the throat sensation). Although recently I've had some reflux right after eating, only it is undigested food coming up...yuck! I've been suffering with this sensation for about 5 months. Initially I was diagnosed with uvulitis and that was treated with antibiotics, however the globolus sensation didn't go away. I was then referred to an ENT and she did a quick visual exam and asked some questions and said I most likely have LPR. I don't understand why she didn't do any further testing??? I don't have the best health insurance...perhaps that is why. Anyway she didn't even give me medication, she said given my age(26)to just change my diet and hopefully it would resolve on its own. I didn't want to wait for it to resolve on its own, so my primary care doctor prescribed the prevacid. I've been doing some research and I think that other tests should be done, to rule out anything more serious. I'm so sick of this feeling, it has really caused me a great deal of anxiety. I don't know if I should go back to the same ENT or see another doctor. I hate that you all are suffering, but I'm relieved that I'm not the only one. For so long, I felt like I was crazy and this was all in my head. I do know that feeling anxious only makes the sensation worse, at least in my case.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the damage from LPR to heal?

Thanks in advance!
