(It sounds like a stupid question as I read over it, but you know what I've been through in getting off all my meds.....)
2. What do you think of St. John's wort? I've been off everything now for just over 8 months. I really want to get my physical health back and lose this excess weight -- do you think St. John's wort will affect my metabolism the same way the other ADs did? Do you think it will help? Or should I just continue to focus on getting my physical health back and hope that the diet and exercise also help the depression?
Thanks for your input!

I'm not Jennita, but I guess I fit "anybody else."

As far as your ears go, when my daughter's piercings were infected, I rubbed her holes with acohol and/or peroxide, and the infection cleared up pretty well in about a week. Also, garlic is supposed to be a good natural antibiotic. I think the best way to utilize garlic's medicinal properties, is to buy the garlic fresh and swallow whole cloves with water.
I have been taking St. John's Wort for awhile, and though I'm not sure how it's helped my depression, my weight hasn't changed at all while taking it. I would suggest trying it out
and dieting and exercising. Can't hurt.

Congratulations on staying off of meds!
Best of luck! -EoR
