Re: Experiences to share with Wellbutrin?

Volco...

I have taken it for years and have never come close to a seizure but I do take it at a very low dosage, 100 mg twice daily if I remember the second dose.

The Wellbutrin package insert warns that seizure activity can be a possibility with that medication if you are so prone. I don't think it is a big concern with the SSRI medications.

Re: Experiences to share with Wellbutrin?

Wellbutrin is what started my panic disorder, which I was probably always prone to, but Wellbutrin induced the panic and anxiety that I now suffer from.

Re: Experiences to share with Wellbutrin?

I have been taking Wellbutrin xl for about two 1/2 months. If was great for the first month, then I had a episode, like a panic or anxiety attack, so my doc put me on paxil as well. Now I feel great. I am a much nicer person now.

Re: Experiences to share with Wellbutrin?

I went into the hospital for stomach pain (anxiety related?) and they didn't give me my welbutrin for a couple of days. I started having major anxiety attacks with my heart pounding and whenever I would fall asleep I would have these terrible, nightmarish dreams. My doctor took me off the welbutrin and started me on Lorazepam. I am feeling much better now but it is only been about a week.

Re: Experiences to share with Wellbutrin?

The Wellbutrin stimulant effect might make it a good medication for those with ADD, though. Stimulant-type medications often help that condition.

One thing with Wellbutrin, I have high cholesterol. The Wellbutrin does not peacefully coexist with most of the fribrates (Lopid, Tricor) or statins. I have had some bad reactions with Zocor, Pravachol and Vytorin. I do seem to be able to take Lescol, though. The doctor explained that Lescol is processed by a different part of the liver and was a better fit for me.

If you were on Wellbutrin and required cholesterol medication, be sure to mention the Wellbutrin to your doctor. The doctor also said that Me****r should work okay with the Wellbutrin.
