A cardioversion is when they shock the heart into a normal rythym. Now V-Tach and V-fib are different things. V-tach is a fast heart that is coming the ventricles. There is also a condition called Superventricular tach. That can be fixed with a procedure called an ablation. It is performed in a cath lab and has a very good success rate. I would talk to your Dr to see which condition it is. V-fib is when the heart is more or less quivering. I would be more than happy to answer any of your questions. I work in cardiology.
