I suffer from moderate Acne, I have a lot of blackheads and pimples... well I've been using all the over the counter stuff and even tretinoin cream (1%) with little help.
The other day while walking past the first aid eisle I noticed this orange stuff called "povidone iodide" and decided to buy a bottle. It cost about $3 or $4.
I don't think it has ever been used as a way to fight acne, but it works really, really well, in fact it works better than anything i've ever tried!! It doesn't sting or stain (doesn't even stain your clothes) and has an unnoticeable, but pleasant scent.
What I do is soak a cotton ball with the stuff and then spread it all over my face and neck before I go to bed. It dries in about 30 seconds. Your face and neck will look like you just had a really nice golden tan (a little bonus). Leave the stuff on while you sleep and then wash it off in the morning (it washes off instantly).
Povidone iodide or povidone iodine is an orangey-brown liquid that is used as an antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, or anti-anything-bad aid for cuts or scrapes.
