Re: List all the things you tried for scars...

dermanew microdermabrasion- minimal sucess
slikia camelia oil- total bs made me break out and did nothing for the scars
retin a- did nothing but thin out my skin and made me sensitive to every element of the weather(took me years to get my skin back to normal)
mederma-made me itch like crazy, did nothing for my scars
in office microdermabrasion- lil to no results
tamanu oil-in seven months my scars are 95% smoothed out, not to mention I have practically no acne thanks to this and also good diet, really good stuff I highly reccomend it-I use organic tamanu oil by lotus moon skincare

Re: List all the things you tried for scars...

dermabrasion (didn't work), glycolic peels(no such luck, burned my skin too), tca peels(works great), mederma(okay), olay regenerist(nothing really), micro crystals(great), a peel cream(so/so, I use this for over all skin appearance).

What Worked Best
TCA PEELS, Mico Crystals (at home dermabrasion exfoliation crystals you use like washing your face)

What is the real difference between Retin-A and Renova? I am on Renova, is anyone else on it or has anyone else used it in the past?

Re: List all the things you tried for scars...

To me it seems Retin A can smooth the skin a bit, but overall it hasn't prevented anything nor do I think it is said to be able to prevent scarring. I use it for mild acne on my cheeks and I have quite a few scars that are visible up close now. All of these things take time to work, but for scars I've only used Mederma. It seems to work (been using it off and on for about 6 months) however it does seem to irritate my skin if I apply it anywhere near any existing acne. So, anyone trying Mederma out it does work, but only with time and remember not to use it around anywhere near existing breakouts.
