It's interesting, for the record, how must Avapro is praised AND how much it is cursed in these threads!

I live in TX also (gulf coast area) I get a cough in the spring/early summer and always have, way before I started taking BP meds

Avapro is an ARB, not an ace. My mom tried avapro for about six months or so and it caused her severe dizziness, leg pain and a host of other sidee effects. However, she did get a good bp reading while on avapro.

But then again, she got very, very good readings with lisinopril.Too bad she was allergic. Now she's on verapamil and clonidine and her readings aren't that great.

She took prinivil back in the early 90's and did not have ace cough or any other side effect. But when she started zestril four yrs later, that is when her problems began with the side effects.

I understand that prinivil & zestril is the same things, is this correct?
