uncomfortable neck

Hi,
Just wanted to know if anyone out there diagnosed with lpr, suffers from an uncomfortable neck. Like you're always aware that its there. I know it sounds silly but that's the only way I describe the feeling. The back and sides always feel tight. It seems as if the lump in my throat feeling since last year, has gotten worse, more like a knife feeling when I swallow. And now this awareness of my neck is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!! I'm on nexium 40 2x a day and zantac 150 at bedtime. I tried prevacid for 3 days but it made everything feel worse. And suggestions?????????

thanks
Patti

Re: uncomfortable neck

Patti,
I also have LPR and my throat and neck feels tight on the sides and in back. I know what you're going through. I've had LPR since January and it drives me crazy. I take Nexium 40 mg twice a day. My ENT gave me "Miracle Mouthwash" to try. It's a combination of Benadryl (antihistamine) Milk of Magnesia (antacid, stomach soother) and Nystatin (antifungal for candida). It's swish and swallow three times a day. It has helped somehat. I know that anxiety of having LPR can make it worse. I try to exercise, get a massage now and then and try to stay positive.

Re: uncomfortable neck

I really really really dont like taking drugs, but have found the occassioanl use of xanax to help. I also sometimes take a flexeril (not together). I think some of the neck tightness is tmj triggered by the lpr and if I can break the anxiety cycle it helps.
