not sure what to do!

I had intercourse on May 1. The first day of my last period before that was April 26. I should mention that I'm on the pill and we used condoms but I've been having strong pregnancy symptoms (nausea, breast tenderness, etc.). I took a pregnancy test with first morning urine on 5/24 and it came out negative. I got a light period starting on May 25 and only lasting about 2 days and. I took another HPT on May 27 and it still came out negative. I'm still feeling really strong symptoms. Would the test at 4 weeks after a short period be accurate or should i take another test now after 6 weeks?

These are all symptoms of pregnancy, however they are all also symptoms of the pill. yes I know it does stink! If you were pregnant, it should be showing up by now on a hpt. I think it's 2-3 weeks after conception for the HcG to show up in your urine. I think it is safe to say that if you are on the pill and you use condoms you are not pregnant. How long have you been on the pill and which pill are you on? However, if it is really bugging you, I would say take a ride over to your dr.

Thanks for your reply. I've been on Aviane for about a year and half and I've never had a problem before. I'm almost positive that the condoms were fine (at least he told me they were). As far as the pill goes the night we had intercourse was the last day of the placebo pills and I guess this is one of the reasons why I'm concerned, although I know if taken correctly you are protected during that time as well. I'm just concerned because I used to be a completely healthy person and now out of the blue I feel terrible. The symptoms that I'm having are classic pregnancy symptoms and I can't figure out why.

Your welcome. I'm pretty sure you're ok and not pregnant. If you took them correctly all month, you are protected even during your placebos. I would go to your doctor and ask. Were your periods (even the light one) when they were supposed to be? Do you have morning sickness, or is your nausea when you take your pill? I wouldn't worry too much if you've had neg. pg tests and your periods came, also you are using condoms too (good for you!).
