Hello, I have really awful allergic asthma and I'm on Advair 500, Singular, Zyrtec, Xolair and I'm getting immunotherapy allergy shots, but I'm still having a really bad time of it. My Albuterol no longer helps at all (I hardly ever take it anymore). I've tried maxair too and this does not work. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions for rescue inhalers? I'm feeling at the end of my tether.
im like u take 500 advair, flonase, theo-24, accolate im allergic to singular, connsently on prednisone, albuteral doesnt work alone with me so i take intal aswell,im also on immuntheropy ,intal is hard to find but mayb it will help with ur asthma
I believe that Foradil is a long acting "rescue" medicine. Ask your doctor.
I'm on QVAR and find it more effective than Advair. Interesting -- I too, am allergic to Singulair though most doctors deny that that is possible. When I describe getting bronchitis from it they call it pure coincidence. So frustrating!
My son got switched to QVAR and what a difference it has made! We haven't used the rescue in forever! Pulmocort and Advair did nothing
He also takes Singulair and Nexium and Zyrtec as well as wkly allergy shots.
Also when it gets real bad we do several days of Xopenex breathing treatments to get it under control.
I hated having to give him Prednisone or Orapred once or twice a year. Since going on QVAR - he hasn't needed it once this last year!
