Actonel side effects....how long do they last

I am suffering from allergic reaction to Actonel and the side effects. Took Actonel once a week for 6 weeks and ended up with malfunction of central nervous system causing heat waves and hands sweating (dripping water), bone pain in feet (painful to walk), acid reflux (esophagus misery), gas pains, hurting all over, ITCHING jaws, neck, face, head and then all over down to knees, feel like a big rig truck ran over me (feel bad all over).

Currently taking Zytrex anahistamine for the the itching and Prevacid for acid reflux. Nothing for pain but I could use something. However, I believe pain meds are hard on the stomach also.

How long does it take for Actonel to get out of the system and return to normal?

Re: Actonel side effects....how long do they last

I am starting to feel better after being off Actonel for 3 months. I took it for 3 months, had a headache, experienced some bone pain, already had the sweats but I was dealing with it. One morning though after taking my weekly dose, I started having chills, pain in my side and my whole body ached. I had crushing chest pains. I was awake all night, a nagging cough and the pain was unbelievable. In the morning, I drove to E.R. I thought I had a severe kidney infection or my appendix were ready to burst. My teeth were chattering. 9 hours later, nothing was found. I felt somewhat better after the 5th hour. When I got home I started searching for information about side effects and found numerous stories identical to mine. I will NEVER take that junk again. I have been using the nasal spray Fortical for 2 months. So far no problems other than a headache. I wonder if I can blame some weight gain on it?
