Re: lgl leukemia

I've had LGL for over 4 year, and am worse off now than when I first had it.
There are no cures, only temporary measures to help keep blood counts acceptable even tho much lower than normal. I just went off Prednisone because I wanted to try some new things and I was tired of the side effects. My ANC went to 40 and I immediately became fatigued and suseptable to infections, even from a small skin scrape. My red cell count dropped for the first time and if my new holistic plan doesn't kick in soon, I'm going back on Prednisone. I was rejected from NIH studies due to high billiribins. I had never heard if a biliruben before. The 2nd rejection was becaue I was on Prednione (which the research nurse there knew but forgot to tell me was a requirement). I'm supposed to try again, but will see.
I'm really pooped out most of the time now and my Dr. says it's due to the low red count. I stay positive and am not the victim type. It' that there are so few of us with LGL that noone pys much attention to a cure. My new kick is from a book, "the Breuss Cancer Cure". You can get it from ****** for under $10. He says Leukemia is not cancer and claims his remedies have cured hundreds.

Re: lgl leukemia

Procrit or aranesp make the red blood cells multipy and in effect put more oxygen into your body. I also take calcuim and iron to help metabolize the drugs. It doesn't increase the neutrophils, but I feel pretty good. I try to eat food that builds the immune system. My neutrophil count is about the same as yours.
I've noticed many changes in the body. Sometimes the mental attitude is really bad. It feels like a disease your fighting all by yourself and no one else gives a crap.
