Hi, I have had a staph infection in my belly button and now i have had a rash on my leg for 3 weeks that won't go away, i was wondering if this could be the staph infection also?

So, I'm presuming that when you went to the doctor, he diagnosed the staph infection and put you on antiobiotics to deal with the infection. THe rash, depending upon when it started could be a reation to the antibiotics or is could be that the antibiotics regimen is not working and that you'll need to get back to the doctor.

Staph infections can be incredibly serious and if you are diagnosing yourself and treating yourself then, as it have been said in the past, you have a fool for a patient.
PLease look up on the internet "necrotizing faciitis."

Thank you Cflas, Yes the Dr. swabbed it sent it in and it came back staph infection put me on antibiotics keflex did not work so now i have to go back tomorrow and see what he does next. But now the past 3 weeks have gotten a rash on my leg and was wondering if maybe it's spreading to other parts of my body.

IT's possible but it would depend on the organisim. Does the rash on your thighs mimic the one at your belly button? I'm glad you're going to the doctor tomorrow...it should relieve your mind. How long have you had the staph infection? chris

I have had the staph infection for 2 months now. The rash on my leg is like little bumps that itch really bad and my belly button gets a pus ball in it and it breaks and comes back again but it doesn't itch.
