Cymbalta and high BP

Hi to all! I have been taking Ativan for several months now to help the anxiety I was having over blood pressure spikes. I also take Diovan for my BP. Today I had an appt. with a new doctor. He prsecribed Cymbalta~30 mg a day for one week to start and then week two increase it to 60mg. I went into the archives here and did a lot of reading and most of it seems very positive/favorable for Cymbalta. I have heard/read that it can increase your BP. Now that really scares me~because most of my anxiety began when I was diagnosed with high BP. It is supposed to be chemically similiar to Effexor which lists increased BP as a side effect. So here I am with a new med and I"m afraid to take it Cymbalta is also the "newest" med for anxiety etc. so that means some of the more serious side effects are not even known about yet. That concerns me too. So if anyone here has something they would like to share about Cymbalta~Good~or~Bad,please feel free!

I have low bp and it did raise mine a tad but not bad. Is your bp being regularly managed? That is something you could have done in order to reassure yourself that it is NOT rising.
