Sinusitis curable without antibiotics

I tried to find this out on the net, but I counldn't find anything, so maybe someone here might know. Is it possable to cure Sinusitis without Antibiotics? Like say you kept using a nasal rinse would this eventually kill all the bacteria in your sinuses and eventally cure you. Does the body cure itself from Sinus bacterias?

Anyways any info would be great! Thanks!

Re: Sinusitis curable without antibiotics

Actually I just found this statement on www.sinusitiscentral.com

"There is no current cure for sinusitis. There are preventative measures you can take to try and avoid an occurrence of sinusitis and there are antibiotics and surgeries to try and alleviate symptoms of sinusitis, but there is no set cure for the disease."

I'm currious about this becouse my current Antibiotic for my Sinusitis make me have Panic attacks. So I'm thinking of nat taking them for a while and see how I feel. What do you guys think?

Re: Sinusitis curable without antibiotics

Hi there

I don't know if this is any help to you but when I had a very bad bout of sinitus/sinus infection that had infected the bones of my face, I was given antibiotics and tablets to stop me from being sick. Neither of the medications worked for me and I felt much worse. But I did continue taking them and after 2 weeks, the infection had cleared up.

I would consult your doctor before you decide to stop taking medication. Some medication that you've been taking for a while can cause problems or sends your body out of whack for a little bit. So see your doctor and I hope your feeling better soon.

You need to find the reason why you have sinusits. If its because you have low immunity, then you need to find the cause of that problem first. constant swollen tonsils and a red throat are signs of low immunity.

You can do somethings to help:

1. start taking zinc (50mg), selenium (200 mcg) and vitamin D (1000 IU) and take a daily multivitamin as well. All of these boost your immune system.

2. get lots of rest, dont get over tired or stressed because that damages your immune system.

3. rince your nose 2-3x daily with a mild salt solution. Hold some of the solution in your hand and sniff it into your nose and back into your throat. This will help was away the residue of thick mucus.

Those things will help but it can take 6 months to see good results. If the infection presists then try taking a few antibiotics in a row so you hit as many organisms as possible. Zithromax is a must to kill mycoplasm bacteria. Don't forget after taking antibiotics to take you bacteria pills from the health food store, these will put back the good bacteria the antibiotics destroyed and makes it hard fothe bad bacteria to find room to grow.

Re: Sinusitis curable without antibiotics

Thx for the replies!

My Sinusitus started from a Respitory Virus. I had bad congestion in the chest and had flu like symptoms for a couple weeks. I'm happy to say that my virus for the most part is gone, and I feel 100X better. I went back to the doctors to see if I could get anything to help my stuffed nose and she told me my ears looked a little red and the inside of my nose looked a little swollen.

The thing is... I looked up symptoms of Sinusitis and I dont have any of the sympoms. I dont have yellow or discollored junk comeing out of my nose, Its mostly clear. I dont have any pain around my cheek bones or above my eyes. I used to have the pressure feeling but thats been gone for about a week. I guess I still get the dizzy trips every now and then though.

Yeah, I use Sinucleanse about 3X a day. Helps a lot with the congestion and makes me feel better. Anyways hope this clears on its own soon. I don't want to go back on the antibiotics =/

Thanks
