Re: sick again! Not even 24 hours of feeling good and then wham!

Haha.... I asked the doctor for general anesthesia last time I saw her. She just gave me ambien.

You might consider getting a flu shot this year, since you have been getting sick so frequently. There isn't supposed to be a shortage, and it is well past the date at which they opened them up to the general public so anybody who was high risk should have gotten one by now. Of course, you also need to be healthy to get the flu shot, so that could be a challenge...

How has the ambien been working for you? I'm on 15 of it and it's hit or miss if it works or not.

I think I just have a cold now, because I'm all congested and my throat hurts enough but not to the point where I'm in agony. My friend told me about zicam.. has anyone used it? She said it's the best and she gets better in like 48 hours... I go to Vegas in 8 days and I need to be better by then!

Re: sick again! Not even 24 hours of feeling good and then wham!

okay so update on me: I thought I was getting better, felt okay during the day but then was outside and caught a chill. Tonight my throat is killing me and I have a low grade temp according to a thermometer that usually is about 1.5 degrees off! If I go to the dr's they'll be able to make me better by next Tuesday, right? :/

I'm also noticing that I'm bruising really easy and all my glands are really swollen. It's weird, my glands are so hard I can move them with my hands (which is painful) and they make like a cracking sound.. anyone ever have this?

Re: sick again! Not even 24 hours of feeling good and then wham!

hi Twizliz
I just wanted to commiserate with you. I have been sick non stop for the last couple of months - I had a minor op and then a bad virus followed by sinusitis, then a cold, now a stomach bug. Its not fun is it, you just want to feel better so it doesn't interrupt your life.

Your glands are swollen because you are fighting germs - even once you have finished fighting germs it takes a few weeks for them to go down. It sounds like you may have another cold, in which case there is not much a dr can give you. I have had great success recently with high dose vitamin c (1000mg) and echinachea, it really helped me at the weekend. Take lots of rest and drink lots of fluid and hopefully this one won't be too bad.

Take care

Thank you for your feedback and sorry to hear about your illness as well

Last night I had the world's worst sinus headache.. it was boarderline migrane. I have been taking a lot of C as well as resting. Now I have a bad cough.. and the dr does not have openings until Monday. At least I'm getting my allergy shot tomorrow, that'll hopefully help some!
