fioricet and OCs

I will try to get right to the point. I have been dating this girl for about four years now. She lives in NY, and I live in SC, we have known each other since high school, about 33yrs ago. We haven't seen each other for 21yrs until we e-mailed on classmates. We were both going through a divorce. We got together and 4yrs have went by. She doesn't work, is on SSDI, so she will come down and stay for months at a time. My problem has been on pain medication from her injuries for about 10 years. She has been taking Fioricet for her migrains and started taking 40 to 80mg of Oxcycontin for pain. Things have been happening like she was missing 30 pills and blamed it on my daughter, changing her stories and not remembering what she said. I know my daughter didn't take them and I know when you are in pain you can eat those OCs like candy, but she still says she didn't. It has put up a wall in my heart because I don't know what is the truth. Can people get where they accually believe what they say even though it is not true? She wants to move down here but I am not sure. Does anybody have any advice on what to do or has been in a similar situation? Thanks for taking the time to read this and have a great day.

Re: fioricet and OCs

Memory loss is side effect of Fioricet addiction. I'm trying to kick a heavy addiction to this monster and I knew I was having trouble remembering little things but just this past weekend my wife told me about things I had done and forgot about. She said my personality did a change for the worse. It really made me sad and scared, at the same time.

I would say to anyone using Fioicet in excess of what is directed by your Doctor, try to find a way to stop. If you suffer from migrianes, try Fioricet only as a last resort and use as directed.

Re: fioricet and OCs

Memory loss or not, I cannot even express how addiction made me doing anything for meds. I would have lied if I had someone to lie to, to get them. And I would have justified it in my head completely. I'm not saying this is the case, I'm just saying it could be.

I have chronic migraines too and justified my drug use that way. A week-long migraine during the w/d nearly pushed me over the edge. I think I probably got more migraines because of the drugs I was taking, though.

Re: fioricet and OCs

Thanks for all your replies! She still swears it was my daughter that took nearly 30 40mg of OCs. Even though my daughter wanted to take a lie detecter test to prove her innocents, my GF thought that was a bad idea. My daughter is 22 and works two jobs, one at UPS and has to be there at 4am, five days a week and then she works retail. So the mystery is still a mystery. I know my GF did them but she believes she did not. Unsolved, and that is part of being addicted to most drugs. Thanks again everybody and good luck to all in your recovery.
