Re: I think I am in the right place...please help

I think we're not supposed to talk about getting drugs through the internet. But I really don't think that they serve anybody but addicts. I know, it was my source for everything.

Do you have the option of finding a different doctor? I've been to quite a few and the one I have now I wish I could just give you her name. I don't think she would react like that at all. Particularly if you brought up first you are concerned about the amt of drugs you are taking but haven't been able to find anything else that works. I thought that's what PM was supposed to be.

I have chronic headaches and migraines too and the migraine thing, that has finally gotten me some understanding. Headaches? Here's my theory on this. Doctors have no idea what causes them. And doctors are trained to think they know what is best for their patients, which makes sense, because otherwise they would not be able to make treatment decisions. Occasionally you get an older, experienced doc (like mine) who has seen medical fads come and go and has learned to take everything with a grain of salt. And she doesn't get flummoxed by something she feels she doesn't understand. Anyway, that's my theory on headaches, docs don't know what causes them, so they feel insecure treating them. I was told it was allergies, stress, sinus infection, really pretty much everything. Nothing worked to treat them.

I understand from other posts that fioricet works really well but is extremely addictive, physically. Whether or not that would translate into addiction for you is another story. But if you are taking more than a regular dose each day, I could understand why your doc might be concerned. Twang was taking, I think 20? something like that, per day. More than 1 dose at any rate.

Anyway, I would stay away from the online thing. In my opinion they are drug dealers. They harass me w/ phone calls and huge quantities of emails. And I've seen marked differences in the potency of things from different "pharmacies", the stuff you get that way is usually from a foreign country (my stuff was often in French or Spanish or even once Hindi), and is often cut w/ other things.

Re: I think I am in the right place...please help

Thanks for your reply, but believe it or not (it sounds crazy) I woke up this morning and no pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My tmj area had been tight for three days/causing nerve pain/pain behind eyes etc.... I told my husband this morning it's like a weight was lifted off of my face. The tight sensation/torture (lol) is really like a vice grip on my jaws. I will be looking into seeing a tmj specialist. Been down this road before, but I know for these past few days it was my jaw joints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! without a doubt

again thanks for your input
take care!!!!!

Re: I think I am in the right place...please help

Hi summer. I don't think I mentioned that I have TMJ. It was one of the things that got me hooked on Hydrocodone to start with. But I rarely ever have the headaches any more now that the cycle has been broken and you do get into a cycle. There is a good TMJ thread for ideas and support on this board, check it out. Also - I saw a TMJ specialist and he made a special mouth piece for me to wear. In really bad cycles I wear it night and day except for when I eat. Most of the time I only wear it at night while I sleep and it prevents me from clenching. It is not the soft clear splint that mant people wear and you might be thinging of - it's actually a hard mouth piece made of some kind of clear hard stuff and metal. It pops over my lower teeh and most of the device if behind my teeth so you dont really see it at all. It corrects my bite and keeps me from being able to clench. It has really helped. It took a little getting used to. I sounded like Sylvester the cat for the first few days LOL - but now you can't tell when I'm wearing it.

Also I find massage therapy on my shoulders and neck is very helpful for relaxing the muscles and that also seems to help with clenching. SInce I've been doing these things I haven't had a really bad headache like that in a long time. Nothing I cant manage with 800 mg of Advil.

Good luck!!
