Oh I know one they CAN'T ignore: more people on Lipitor have gray hair than those NOT on Lipitor.

Now, now Lenin, U know noone is blaming statins for banging their toes etc. U have to admit, some folks really do get some nasty side effects from statins, as well as some other meds., and most of the time the drs. do not report it. 2 drs. came to the conclusion I was not cut out for taking statins, but I know darn well it was never reported, cause I asked. Their answer is, it is rare, so unless they get a certain amount of people complaining of the same thing, it is an isolated case. I was on Baycol for almost 2 months, and then tossed them, as they were the worst, and I told the dr. these things are horrid and I wouldn't be surprised to see them off the market. He told me...NEVER, as statins were the best thing since sliced bread. Well, 8 months after I got off, they got pulled. Hmmmm, ya think I was right?

Have a great day.......

Gee lenin.... Are we just a little clumsy? or maybe forgetful where we put those barbells? ( i know you were just kidding, and I did get a laugh out of it) Anyway, go to Lipitor.com, this is the web site of the maker of Lipitor. They list one of the side effects to be HEARTBURN!!!. Of course they say it is rare...but we all know that they're rare, and the people on cholesterol medications have a different opinion of rare.

Of course you were right, and that doctor was an idiot to say such a stupid thing. You should have invited him out to lunch, with the stipulation that you'll eat the sliced bread and he'll have to snack on Baycol pills. Well, I've always known that people can be both smart and stupid at the same time, and doctors are living proof of that. If he actually believes that these drugs are so great, it's only because it means more "bread" in his pocket...in the form of perks doled out by the drug companies.

Well the only thing I did say to him was "Geez, I never got any side effects from eating bread", and said it with a VERY straight face. Ya think I annoyed him? ROTFL Like my husband tells me, "U can tell people off with such a straight face, and such a calm tone". Oh well, God made me this way, so the world will just have to take me or leave me.........

He really was a statin lover, and I truly believe he thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. Oh well, to each his/her own, but he isn't my dr. anymore, so God bless his patients. As I have always said, if U can take them, have NO problems, then good luck, but for those that can't take them, we just have to do the best we can, and hope things just get better. It is hard to keep the numbers down with diet and exercise, many of us slip up, and many just can't do it. I know sometimes my numbers stink, but it is the best I can do, and I know I am trying my darndest. Guess the chips will just have to fall where they choose to.

Have a good one, stay warm, and get that snow blower ready for tomorrow. Guess ole man winter is coming for a Xmas visit.....

Gee, I wonder if Lipitor could cause us to become close minded!
