multifocal motor neuropathy or als

I Have Been Getting Weakness And Pains In My Right Arm For About 3 Months Now. I Went To The Doctor Who Said It Was Tendanitis And Put Me On Mobic. It Has Since Gotten Much Worse, And He Has Cut Back The Mobic To 1 Pill A Day. I Am Also Now Getting Severe Cramps In My Right Thigh. The Weakness Is Also Now Spreading To The Left Side Of My Arm, Along With The Same Pain. Hasn't Hit The Left Leg Yet. I Have Done Some Research On Line And It Sounds To Me Like It Could Be Multifocal Motor Neuropthy. However, They Say It Is Tough To Tell The Difference Between That And Als.

Does Anyone Know Anything About Multifocal Motor Neuropathy, Or Have Any Thoughts Themselves???

Re: multifocal motor neuropathy or als

Hi karen. Yes they can tell the difference between those 2 diseases, an EEG and NCV can show'' Conduction Block'' (Axonal or Demyelinating) which is Neuropathy. MMN is an auto immune (t-cells) attacking the Myelin Sheath .MMN is also closely regarded to CIDP. See a Neurologist to help diagnose your situation.
