Question Blood sugars controlled, but gaining weight????

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this board. I have been diabetic for about six years now. About a month ago, my doctor put me on metphormin. Okay, so I take 4mg of amaryl twice a day, and metformin 500mg twice a day. I have been using my treadmill 3-4 times per week, watching what I eat, and using it at a decent pace, not slow. Well, I have gained 3 pounds!!! I though I was doing good. It seems like since my blood sugars are doing good, that I'm gaining weight! Versus when I was running high that the weight was easier to lose, has anyone heard of this??? I would appreciate any input!!! Thanks so much!
