My GI appt today...

Well, more tests. yippee.

He ordered some more blood work. He also ordered a barium test. No, I don't drink this one, it goes in the other way. Anyone know why he would do that instead of a colonoscopy? Does it look at more of the intestinal tract?

Anyway, I have to have a repeat endoscope with a bravo test but I cant get till march!!! Unreal! In the meantime, he gave me Zelnorm since I am constipated. Wow, within two hours it opened things up, but is doing nothing for the burning pain.

I just want to die! I ate rice today and started burning really bad. Grrrrrr.

Nancy,

What tests have you had previously? So sorry you are experiencing so much discomfort and getting no relief. I know how frustrating it can be.

Hang in there!

Nancy,
Hello, what is the Bravo? I know what the endoscopy is but not with the bravo.
Thanks,
Andra

Re: My GI appt today...

I have had endoscopies, colonoscopies, GI series tests. The bravo is a PH monitoring test so they can monitor how much acid you are producing.

I hate this pain but I have to get off the PPI's-we really do think they are making things much worse.

Nancy,

I went to the doc today too. He wants to switch me from the PPI to 150 mg of Zantac-have you tried that? I haven't started yet, but it's supposed to be an alternative. Skylar
