Post Please help, anyone experience this pressure

My prior doctor treated me for allergies for 10 years (Nasalcrom & Beconase Spray), thinking that I was allergic to dust and mold. Well, I got allergy testing done about a month ago and I am not allergic to any of them (specialist said that I had environmental allergies). I stopped taking the Nasalcrom after allergy testing and had not taken Beconase since the beginning of 2005. I stopped taking the Beconase because my copayment went up to $40 and I figure I did not need it anymore.

Since it has turned cold now and the heat is on. My sinus\nassage passages are very dry and causes pressure. I have all of this crusty bloody (sorry to be so graphic) stuff in my nose and I think that it is not allowing me to breath properly making me have these bouts of tiredness (pressure right in the center of my head) and even anxiety. I have been using AYR Saline Spray and it seems to just go directly to my throat. Yesterday, I bought the AYR gel to put around my nostrils as instructed. Today, I starting to use my Beconase (got a new prescription before the specialist tested me for allergies) again to help with any inflammation. It worked in the past for me.

Does this sound familar to anyone?

Thanks,
Aaron

Re: Please help, anyone experience this pressure

I would try using a humidifier. That will help with the dryness. It helps me sleep better too. Getting a hot wash rag (as hot as you can stand it) and putting it on your face may help. Sometimes it helps to break up the congestion. I also find that letting hot water run over my face in the shower really helps too.

I went to the Dr on wednesday and he prescibed me with Flonase. i have only been on it a few days, but already feel better then I have in two months. I have heard alot of goos things about it. I am not sure if it would help you though. I go for allergy testing in two months. Hopefully i will not be allergic to my puppy. I grew up with dogs my whole life and never really had a problem, but the Dr said you can develope it. I also had a baby a year ago and I hear that can change things too.

Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you.

So you had the same feelings of sudden tiredness and fatigue when the congestion hit? I go into certain department stores and I completely clog up as if I was in a fog and become extremely tired.

I have been blaming it on other medicines that I have been taking but my body is used to them by now. Plus, after the episode, I have this draining in the back of my throat (as if I had drank something carbonated) so it got to be sinus related. My mom had really bad sinus problems.

Good Luck With Your Dog!

Yeah I do get that feeling alot, but have never really associated it with allergies. I can hardley stand to be in the Yankee candle place, drives me nuts. My mom too has bad sinus problems. I am just getting over a sinus infection now, reason for the Dr,s visit.

Good to know that I am not the only one. I don't see how people can work in those stores! Especially that "Perfuma" store. I'd be dead within minutes... LOL!
