SCARED-please help, 3 year old asthma out of control?

Hypertonic saline is nebulized -- comes in 3%, 7% and 10%. Need a prescription for it.

There's also an over the counter nasal spray called simply saline allergy which is 3%.

I will call my pulmonologist as well. I was told not to mix xopenex with anything. When Matt is really sick and they add atrovent they tell me to wait between the two treatments. Therefore he needs to do two seperate treatments. What are the benefits of the hypertonic saline?

Hypertonic Saline helps cut thru the crud. Was discovered in Australia by parents of CFers who surfed. Breathing in moist salt water air helped them breathe deeper, cut threw the thick mucus in their sinuses and lungs, helped them to cough up and out that stuff, reduces the number of infections and hospitalizations... Patients have been shown to have increased lung capacity, increased pfts...

My mom uses it for her sinuses and for her asthmatic bronchitis. Reduces inflammation and swelling. Cuts thru the mucus and helps her to move it up and out.

I just wanted to update everyone. Melanie had her surgery and it went well. We ruled out ciliary dyskinisea. I really thought that was going to be it. I found a lump in my breat I need to get out. With Melanie's appts and now mine. I haven't been able to get on very much. My CT scan looked good. So I'll hope for the best.

Anyways I met a really great guy that might be able to help me. It just might be the chemicals she was exposed to. It makes sense to ,me. Anyways melanie has an appt at out childrens diagnostic center. I hope they can help. It's for very complex cases and I think it's about time we know whats wrong and get a diagnoses. I'll keep you guys posted.

Well we went to the dianostic center. She feels Melanie doesn't have asthma. She feels it is reactive airway disease. She is also very concerned with Melanie's sleep apnea and chronic sinusitis. I am not suer what they are going to do at this point. we need to scheduale a vcug for her urine reflux, a sleep study in june-her best month, and a hearing and eye exam. Melanie's behavior's have become worse and she feels it may be due to the sleep apnea. Also she can't tell me exactly what at the school cause all this but there is a trigger there-that has caused a lot of this. I know what it is. But she can't test it. She said there is no way. I don't think there are any doctors around here that could help me with that. But I do know that being exposed that long has cause her some major problems.
