Spider veins on face? Laser treatment?

I got spider veins on my face and on my upper lips and my face is really red. Doc said it was Rosacea. But before this all started my face would swell up twice a year (where i couldn't speak right cause my lips were huge) and then I ended up in the emergency room and they diagnosed it as an allergic reaction to a med I was taking for 2 months called Altace. Then the swelling got worse and I ended up going to another emergency room the next day worrying about my breathing....it got worse. Then it went away for another 6 months. I knew it wasn't an allergic reaction to Altace (they took me off of it) and again I had yet another reaction and my face swelled up again. This time my Dr. told me it was a rare condition called "angioedema" and she told me that this would last the rest of my life. This would happen every 6 months or so and I would have to take time off of work.
Well, the last time this happened I went to the Doctor so miserable and I said to "cut it open, I can't stand it no more".
Well, to make a long story short, I had a tumor in my face just underneath my nose about one inch by one inch , by an inch all the way around.
This thing was so huge that DR. had the surgery repeated 3x's after that and now I found out that I have to have it done again for the 4th time cause it will not close up. (This is 4 years later now). My face has gone thru so much trauma and now I have spider veins that I want lasered out. Insurance denied it. I sent them pix of all this too. I am going to appeal this decision of theirs and now I have to have root canal done cause this has messed up my front teeth (the teeth roots are where the tumor was).
Has anyone had laser surgery to remove these veins and do the veins come back? And does anyone know how I can get this paid for by my insurance?
I wear a ton of make-up and am trying to hide this.I want to be set free from these veins on my face. Does anyone have any ideas how to get insurance to pay for this and will this surgery work? How successful is this laser surgery?I'm dreading working this summer with all this makeup on when it'll all get "sweated-off" due to the heat, and they will all see how bad my face really is. Right now, they can see the veins thru the make-up. It's a lot worse w/o any makeup at all.
Sorry this is so long. Can anyone help me here?

Re: Spider veins on face? Laser treatment?

I'm so sorry for all you've been through. Yes, I believe laser treatment will get rid of the spider veins. I had CO2 laser to get rid of my dark undereye circles (that was a year ago and I love the results) and eventually I'm going to have it done to the few spider veins I have on my cheeks and around my nose.

I wish I could offer a suggestion about insurance but, unless you can get a psychiatrist to say your mental health is adversely affected by the spider veins, I think it would be difficult to get insurance coverage for their removal. You might check with your insurance and see if a doctor's recommendation would do it. Good luck!

Thank you for your comments Afterglow. Hmmmm, maybe I should check that out. I don't want to have to hide out, or hide my face when invited out to summer events cause my face will show those "blue, nasty lines".
