Does the Klaron lotion work with Retin-A Micro?

Hello everyone. I'm new to the boards and I have a question about the medication that my dermatologist has put me on. For the past 2 months, I have been using Retin-A Micro at night time before I went to bed and while it cleared me up a little, it didnt really clear me up until I had good skin. While the dermatologist acknowledged this and told me that my skin has improved drastically, she decided to proscribe something called Klaron lotion, which I'm suppose to use in the morning, along with the Retin-A Micro at night. My question to you guys/gals is does this sound like a way to improve my acne? Will the Klaron lotion make it better, worse, or will I stay the same. Right now, I've been on Retin-A Micro for around 11 weeks and over the last 3 weeks I have not really seen any improvement, so I think maybe this lotion will help me somewhat. What does everyone here think?

Re: Does the Klaron lotion work with Retin-A Micro?

I've been using Klaron for a few months now and think it has helped. I apply a thin layer every morning to the affected area. Besides leaving a somewhat shiny look, I have not had a problem w/ it. By the way, I use benzaclin at night. As w/ all new meds, it might take a few weeks to start working, so be patient.

Just curious...what's your current face washing routine? how often? soap? moisturizer?

Re: Does the Klaron lotion work with Retin-A Micro?

As of right now, I wash my face in the morning and at night with a mild Clearasil clenser and I use to wash my face with some Dial soap along with it, but I think that might have been overdoing it, so I stopped. As for moisturizers, I haven't used them that often, but doesn't the Klaron lotion moisturize the skin as well as treating the acne? Thanks a lot for the feedback.

Re: Does the Klaron lotion work with Retin-A Micro?

I'm still learning the right steps to prevent acne, but I think I have learned by now that the more you wash your face, the more you're aggravating it. I think your on the right page to wash your face twice a day w/ a mild cleanser. Also, wash your face after you exercise! I think you might want to use a mosturizer as well (1 w/ at least SPF 15 in it). As for Klaron being a mosturizer, I don't think it is, but might be wrong. I only apply it to my chin area so I'm really not substituting it as a complete face mosturizer. Keep us posted!

Re: Does the Klaron lotion work with Retin-A Micro?

Hey I have a question about the moisturizers: Would I put the moisturizer over the Klaron lotion in the morning? How does that work? I mulling over whether or not to put the moisturizer over the Klaron this morning, but I didn't want to take a risk of mixing it with Klaron and causing a bad reaction. Thanks again for the help.
