aneurysm?

Okay so maybe I'm a bit of a hypocondriac (sp?). Something just doesn't feel right. Today I turned my head to the right and experienced the worst shooting pain i'd ever felt. It occured behind my right eye and shot up my head. Needless to say I was seeing stars. I thought it was weird and then got a little nervous when five minutes later I turned my head again and the same thing happened. This pain was then followed by nausea and a light pressure pain behind my eyes. It just didn't feel like anything I'd ever had before.
I've had mirgains for the longest time but this was different. Is this something I should be concerned about? The first thing I thought when the second pain occured was "aneurysm." The problem is, I don't want to go to the doctor over a dumb headache. Everyone gets them and it's not really worth seeing a doctor for. Has anyone had this or had an aneurysm that started like this? Any answers would be appreciated.

Re: aneurysm?

At the very least,i would reccomend having an MRI done on your head and the c spine.this could be stemming from some sort of issue actually in the c spine and not the head, but you do need to rule out both.

I was Dxed with an aneurysm just this past sept and also have a huge amount of c spine problems as well.this quite honestly,to me,anyways and given the type of trigger that gives you that headache, this doesn't really sound like it is an aneurysm,so put that a bit lower on the worry list,K? pain like you described, upon movement,is usually stemming from a nerve issue not actually a brain issue.getting the MRIs done would most likely show a possible disc or some sort of affectation in the upper or around the c 8 nerves in the c spine.there are(as I found out the hard way) a few nerves that actually run down from the head and into the c spine and then loop back up into the head again.this is why, things that are happening in the head, need to be checked out from the c spine on up.do you know what I mean?

at any rate, what you are feeling is not normal,so in that case,it really does need some further evaluation, just for that reason alone.i would just see your primary and ask about the MRIs and go from there. Please let me know just what you find out,K? good luck,FB

Re: aneurysm?

I'm on Prozac and Lamictal

Feelbad, thanks for your advice. It hasn't happened again so I guess I'll worry about it if it becomes frequent. For all I know it was sinus pressure, which isn't unheard of. I always think the worst though, personality flaw because it's never the worst...which is a good thing. Anyway, thank you for your advice I will keep it in mind and if I experience any further pain that is similar I'll get it checked out.
