Re: Allergie Nose Stuffiness

you need an antihistimine/decogestant combo like Zyrtec-D, Claritin-D or Allegra-D Or you could just buy Claritin OTC and take some sudaphed. Flonase nosespray is also good for stuffiness.

I use Singular everyday and Flonase 2 times a day and take Prolex D when I have congestion. It's a decongestant and guaifenesin. Please go talk to your doctor as there are a lot of medications that can help. That's what my allergist tell me all the time.

When I get congested due to allergies I also get very dry up in the sinuses area and taking antihistamine makes things a lot worse since they are designed to dry you out. I use Singulair and Nasacort AQ (Flonase, Rhinocort and Nasonex dry me out too much) and they help me a lot.

I forgot to tell you what my allergist said to me-an antihistamine is for a runny nose because antihistamines dry up; a decongestant is for both post nasal drip and nasal congestion. With that information, it helps me to choose the right medication for what ever symtom I have.
