Still Waiting for my period (Apri/Aviane)

Hey Everyone,

I had been on Apri for about a year. I was having my period almost twice every month so my doctor switched me to Aviane. Tomorrow I will finish my first pack of Aviane. I have one more inactive pill to take and I still have not gotten my period. I always use condoms and I took a pregnancy test yesterday that came back negative. But I'm still paranoid and nervous.

Could it be becuase of the new pills?

Re: Still Waiting for my period (Apri/Aviane)

It's normal for that to happen sometimes! I take Mircette (well, Kariva which is the generic) and there are some months that I don't have a period at all! If you have taken them like you're supposed to, I would not worry about it at all! Your body is probably just trying to get used to this new pill. I have been taking Kariva for 3 years and I asked my doctor if it's ok that I don't have a period some months. He said that was fine as long as they were working well for me otherwise. I have to say that I love taking these pills because my periods were so heavy and painful before. Now, I sail through the month without hardly any pain or bleeding! Just try it a bit longer and if you see that it's not working for you, your doctor can keep trying you on different ones until you find one that's right for your body!
